‘On Past and Current Plights is a meditation on the many facets that make up the modern Jewish identity. Through the utilization of traditional biblical references and imagery, as well as essential concepts and figures found throughout Jewish history (both cultural and religious,) my perspective of being Jewish today is demonstrated. In this collection of eight poems, I explored Judaism through a distinctly feminine and personal lens, with a hand from the beautiful texts that form the web of our collective history.’ (From my Artist Statement.
